Objectives:
Understand the stages and clinical significance of normal dental development
Identify and manage anomalies in dental development at an early stage
Diagnose and manage crowding and spacing in the mixed dentition
Understand the indications, design, and application of space maintainers
Identify and manage supernumerary teeth within interceptive treatment planning
Recognise and manage the impact of trauma in paediatric patients on developing dentition
Recognise and approach ankylosis, transplantation, transposition, and impactions
Apply principles of early Class II correction in growing patients
Diagnose and manage early Class III malocclusions effectively
Integrate aligner-first protocols into interceptive treatment planning
Assess and manage deep bite cases in the early mixed dentition
Diagnose and intervene in early anterior and posterior open bite cases
Utilise expansion techniques and guide arch development appropriately
Understand the role of multidisciplinary intervention in complex cases
Evaluate the impact of soft tissue aetiology on developing malocclusions
Recognise the implications of bruxism in paediatric patients
Assess the role of mouth breathing and snoring in craniofacial development
