Aims:
·      To understand clinical application of various advanced mechanics

·      To develop further and hone bend methodology methods

·      To develop further technical hand expertise of using certain orthodontic pliers

·      To be able to scrutinize and avoid auxiliary movements and unwanted effects

·      To be able to adapt to different sizes, materials and shapes of wires

·      To be able to adapt to scenarios in orthodontic mechanics

Objectives:

·      To understand extrusion and intrusion mechanics en masse 

·      To understand and construct extrusion and intrusion utility arches

·      To understand and construct the use of class II and class III loop mechanics

·      To understand when to use and construct gable bends

·      To understand en masse torquing procedures and forming their wires

·      Understand the mechanics and utilise methods using RCOS wires

·     Be able to form wires in methods to upright molars

·      Intrusion & Extrusion Arches

o   Techniques to control en masse vertical tooth movements

·      Rickett’s Utility Arches

o   The ability to develop a working Rickett’s Utility Arch

·      Helical Loop Mechanics for class II

o   Understand the methods to position loops for class II mechanics

·      Helical Loop Mechanics for class III

o   Understand the methods to position loops for class III mechanics

·      Gable Bends

o   Mechanics, scenarios and methods in developing simple Gable bends

·      Torquing Arches

o   Techniques and methods to control en masse torque intra-arch

·      RCOS Mechanics

o   Understand advanced benefits of using a RCOS wire

·      Kim Mechanics

o   Be able to understand Kim mechanics, scenarios and methodology

·      Molar Uprighting Methods

o   Be able to understand scenarios and develop methods in cantilever molar uprighting approaches

·      Molar Uprighting Helices

o   Be able to develop advanced methods in cantilever molar uprighting approaches using helices and their benefits

CPD Hours

This program provides a total of 4 hours of verifiable CPD on completion with certification.
